New level of collaboration at Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University thanks to Colibo intranet
Why Colibo?
The Center for Advanced Studies at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW CAS) has adopted Colibo as their new digital workplace. This decision marks an important step towards improved internal communication and collaboration within the university. The university wanted a future-proof digitization solution and chose Colibo.
Firstly, DHBW CAS wanted an intuitive user interface that makes it easy to get started, as well as a strong base version that already contains many useful features. Another important factor was the attractive price level, which was convincing compared to other providers.
The goal for the new intranet
With the introduction of Colibo, DHBW CAS is pursuing several clear goals:
- Improving internal communication. Through a central platform, information should be exchanged faster and more efficiently.
- In addition, flexible scalability is an important criterion, as the system must be able to keep up with the organization's growth.
- Colibo will also promote networking among employees, reduce the number of emails and strengthen the social community.
- In addition, cross collaboration is supported, leading to increased efficiency and better collaboration regardless of location.
- Another advantage is that the intranet can operate independently of other systems at the university, increasing autonomy and security.
A positive change in internal collaboration
Since the introduction of Colibo in spring 2024, there are already noticeable changes in internal collaboration. The number of emails has been significantly reduced, putting employees at ease. Instead, they increasingly use Colibo's workgroups as a "digital bulletin board" to share important news both centrally and in targeted workgroups. All relevant information is collected in the employee handbook, which acts as a kind of wiki. Digital exchange has also been improved, as evidenced by the intensive use of the Colibo app. These changes contribute to a more efficient and transparent workflow.
We have been able to stem the flow of emails and our internal communication is now much more focused and structured. In particular, colleagues who work geographically separated are now included and have a central point of contact in their daily work.

Security aspects and data protection
An important aspect in choosing the new intranet was data protection. DHBW CAS attaches great importance to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Colibo as an EU provider fully meets these requirements and has important certifications such as ISO 27001. The fact that Colibo also has the Danish military among its customers emphasizes the high security architecture of the platform. These arguments were decisive for the switch to Colibo's intranet from digitalization pioneer Denmark.
Features for digital community
The employees at DHBW CAS particularly appreciate Colibo's social features. The ability to react to posts, like and comment promotes social exchange and strengthens the sense of community. The document history enables transparent traceability of changes, which facilitates collaboration on projects. The workgroup option is also used intensively, both for work organization and for personal familiarization of employees.
The features of our Colibo intranet significantly improve employee sharing and cross-departmental collaboration. This strengthens the sense of togetherness and makes us more efficient at the same time.

Chat will contribute to increased data protection
DHBW CAS is particularly looking forward to Colibo's upcoming chat functionality, which will further complement and simplify social exchange. This will reduce dependency on other messenger tools in the future and contribute to increased data protection at the university - as Microsoft Teams, for example, cannot be used due to data protection concerns.
