An outdated SharePoint intranet prompted Campus Vejle to switch to Colibo

Campus Vejle

Campus Vejle is a modern educational institution with around 2050 students and close to 270 employees. The institution offers a wide range of youth education programs that prepare young people to continue their studies or enter the job market directly. Students can choose between HHX, the 2-year STX, and HF in 2 or 3 years. In addition, Campus Vejle is home to the vocational programs EUD and EUX Business. Campus Vejle is also a Team Denmark school and has a large sports college.

The challenge

Campus Vejle had an old intranet solution that had become impossible to maintain without external help with coding experience. It was an unsustainable and time-consuming solution. At the same time, the solution was not mobile-friendly, making it difficult for employees, such as janitors, who were not always near a computer to access the intranet

We had an outdated intranet in SharePoint that we couldn't maintain. We were looking for a more modern solution when we found Colibo.

With many different departments and working groups, Campus Vejle needed one place to communicate across departments. One place where they could send information to, for example, employees in the canteen, the janitors or employees in a specific program.

We wanted to improve communication between our departments and needed a communication platform that could fulfill that need. We want to break down the silo mindset and the platform in Colibo helps us do that. Although, of course, it requires a change of habits and culture and is a process.

Colibo as a new communication platform

We asked Carsten why they chose Colibo as their supplier over the other two providers they had to choose from:

Out of the three suppliers, Colibo's solution was the one that best suited our needs. We were allowed to test the features during a good trial period,and that meant a lot. And Colibo has some really good customer references.

 

 

We could see that the foundation is in place. Colibo can do a lot and maybe even more than we need, but we choose to use the features that are relevant to us.

An easy implementation

Implementing a new platform can be a daunting and lengthy task. The Implementation and Adaption team from Colibo, together with Campus Vejle's IT department, have been responsible for the IT technical aspects. Carsten elaborates:

It has been a good and safe implementation process. Line has managed the technical implementation of the project professionally from start to finish. In addition, I've received great support and solutions from Stine when she has contributed with tips for setup, design, etc.

 

The results

With the intranet from Colibo, Campus Vejle has a platform that is easy to operate - now and in the future. They need minimal internal resources and are no longer dependent on having employees with strong IT or SharePoint skills to maintain the intranet. Colibo is continuously developed and the platform is continuously adapted, so Campus Vejle only needs to focus on the content.

Carsten concludes by saying:

Colibo has saved us time and money. It has freed up resources in our IT department. The platform is easy to work in, so our student assistant could easily take responsibility for it. It doesn't require a full-time employee to run the intranet via Colibo.
