Why Colibo?
The Center for Advanced Studies at Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW CAS) has introduced Colibo as their new digital workplace. This decision marks an important step towards improved internal communication and collaboration within the university. The university wanted a future-proof digitalization solution, and the choice fell on Colibo.
Firstly, DHBW CAS wanted an intuitive user interface that makes it easy to get started, as well as a strong basic version that already includes many useful features. Another important factor was the attractive price level, which was compelling compared to other providers.
The aim of the new intranet
With the introduction of Colibo, DHBW CAS is pursuing several clear goals:
Improving internal communication. Through a central platform, information should be exchanged faster and more efficiently.
Moreover, flexible scalability is an important criterion, as the system must be able to keep up with the organization's growth.
Colibo should also promote networking among employees, reduce the number of emails, and strengthen the social community.
Additionally, cross-functional collaboration is supported, leading to increased efficiency and better cooperation regardless of location.
Another advantage is that the intranet can operate independently of other systems at the university, which increases autonomy and security.
A positive change in internal collaboration
Since the introduction of Colibo in spring 2024, there have already been noticeable changes in internal collaboration. The number of emails has been significantly reduced, which eases the workload for employees. Instead, they are increasingly using Colibo's workgroups as a "digital bulletin board" to share important news both centrally and in targeted workgroups. All relevant information is gathered in the employee handbook, which serves as a sort of wiki. The digital exchange has also improved, as evidenced by the intensive use of the Colibo app. These changes contribute to a more efficient and transparent workflow.
We have been able to curb the flood of emails, and our internal communication is now much more targeted and structured. In particular, colleagues who work separately in different locations are now included and have a central point of contact in their daily work.

Security aspects and data protection
An important aspect of choosing the new intranet was data protection. DHBW CAS places great emphasis on compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As an EU provider, Colibo fully meets these requirements and has important certifications such as ISO 27001. The fact that Colibo also has the Danish military among its customers underscores the platform's high security architecture. These arguments were crucial for the switch to Colibo's intranet from the digitalization pioneer country Denmark.
Features for digital community
The features of our Colibo intranet ensure a significant improvement in the exchange among employees and collaboration across departments. It strengthens the sense of ‘we’ and makes us more effective at the same time.

Chat should contribute to increased data protection
DHBW CAS is particularly looking forward to Colibo's upcoming chat functionality, which will further supplement and simplify social exchange. This will, in the future, reduce dependence on other messaging tools and contribute to increased data protection at the university – as Microsoft Teams, for example, cannot be used due to data protection concerns.

The introduction of Colibo at Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg was a significant step towards improved, future-proof communication and collaboration. Colibo not only meets the current requirements of DHBW CAS but also offers potential for future developments. The positive changes and high satisfaction among employees confirm the success of this implementation. Colibo has proven to be a valuable tool that supports DHBW CAS in their digital transformation and prepares them for the workplace of the future.
